History:

Since the first 350 GT model was unveiled in 1963, Lamborghini supercars have distinguished themselves through their exquisite design and the power of their aspirated V12 engines, which, then and today, offer a captivating and unparalleled driving experience.

The unmistakable sound of the V12 is like the symphony of an orchestra. Each of the 12 cylinders must move in unison with the others, like 12 violins playing in crescendo, gear by gear, to best enhance the driver's driving experience.

In the Countach (1974), the engine was moved further back, bringing the music closer to the driver's ears. Subsequently, the LM002 (1986) had the honor of integrating the Countach engine (now displacing 5.2 liters and producing 444 CV) into the heart of the first SUV.

The latest chapter in the V12 engine's history began in 2011 with the introduction of the Aventador and its remarkable new 6.5-liter V12 engine. With a 0-100 km/h acceleration of just 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 350 km/h, the engine, now available in no fewer than four versions, including the SVJ, delivers 770 CV and 720 Nm of torque at a peak speed of 8,500 rpm.

The Lamborghini V12 engine is a work of engineering, delivering unparalleled power and performance, a soundtrack to the driver's ears.

Product Prototype Description:

The Lamborghini Aventador is a mid-engine sports car produced by the Italian automaker Lamborghini. The Aventador's namesake is a Spanish fighting bull that participated in a fight in Zaragoza, Aragon in 1993. The Aventador is the successor to the Murciélago and is produced in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy. The Aventador was launched at the Geneva Motor Show on February 28, 2011. Five months after its debut at Sant'Agata Bolognese, the car, internally codenamed LB834, was intended to replace the then-ten-year-old Murciélago as the new flagship model.

The Aventador LP 700–4 was powered by Lamborghini's 60° V12 engine. Internally known as the L539, this new engine was Lamborghini's fifth in-house engine and second V12 design. It was the first all-new V12 engine since the 3.5-liter engine in the 350GT.

Reception:

Automotive magazines such as Car and Driver and Motor Trend reviewed the Aventador. Car and Driver titled their article "The best Lamborghini ever." Motor Trend described it as "the friendliest V12 supercar in the world." Praise for Lamborghini's all-new V12 powerplant centered on the engine's responsiveness, torque, and smooth power output.

The Aventador posted the fifth fastest time ever recorded on the Top Gear test track with a time of 1:16.5, beating the US$2,000,000 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, the Ferrari Enzo, the Porsche 911 GT3, and other supercars from around the world. In season 18 of the programme, presenter Jeremy Clarkson said that the Aventador is better than the Ferrari 458 Italia (which they had previously called the best supercar ever), describing it as Being "£200,000 worth of dreams."
