How it works:
The engine is powered by a single pneumatic cylinder, which acts on a crankshaft to power the flywheel with a 5:1 gear ratio, and another crank to operate the switch accordingly.
The flywheel helps overcome the deadpoint of the switch, where no air enters or exits, by introducing inertia into the system. The sliding connecting rod mechanism minimizes this moment by allowing significant rod displacement relative to the required movement on the switch.
This results in a pneumatic engine that runs smoothly at a maximum of 100 rpm with any unmodified switch or cylinder, featuring a lovely steampunk design and powered by two pumps as the air supply.
