I ordered a beam engine and the workshop model kit. Very happy with the beam engine - a beautiful model that operates perfectly. The model workshop was disappointing 😕. The drill press comes pre assembled and was not put together correctly. The top crown wheel was able to pop up and disengage from the lower crown wheel causing the whole assembly to shudder because the bearing journal was machined too big for the bearing. After centre punching around the journal the bearing correctly pressed into the journal. The drill press was reassembled and now the crown wheels mesh correctly. For the price I expected this remedial action would not be required.
We apologize for the unpleasant shopping experience. Since our products are all pre-assembled manually, errors are inevitable during the assembly process. We hope you understand. Super engine, my 4th Teching engine,. Enginediyshop is super to deal with. I had a small problem and they solved it really fast at no charge. I can't say enough good things about them. They are simply the best.
I received the SE-03 steam engine plant a few weeks and ago and from opening the box I was stunned with its beauty. Now I have to admit I've always been a sucker for a steam engine with a vertical boiler so this steam plant just ticked all the boxes for me.
Absolutely awesome kit and a great lot of fun to put this together. As I mentioned above, it's a stunningly beautiful steam plant with a historical looking antique vertical boiler. I have many hours of running this engine now and it's been total pleasure. I have a lot of steam engines, but this one stands out and visitors (who aren't even enthusiasts over the Christmas/New Years break all commented on it which was very interesting to me.

This is my second ST-NF2 engine. The first was the Silver version, this one being the Red. These engines are straight forward and reasonably simple to construct. All of the pieces are machined to a very high standaed and fit together perfectly. I finally found Butter Grease for the top end lubrication. This was recommended by EngineDIY as to what lubricant to use. I am planning on building this engine using the conversion kit that is a spark ignition rather than glow plug. These are perfect for those cold winter nights and they help keep the mind and hands busy. A grrat engine for a great price.
