Good condition.

The first thing you see is the box and packaging. It's part of the experience. It's impressive and a suggestion of what is about to come. I wasn't disappointed. Every piece was first class. Heavy machined brass, stainless steel, and aluminum make up the parts of this steam engine and boiler. The assembly instructions meet the same high standards. Assembly takes less than two hours. The result is a working boiler and steam engine that drives a generator lighting a street lamp. Speed can be controlled by the steam valve or the reverse lever. It's fun to build and operate as well as it's a good-looking piece for display. All in, a good experience and I recommend these products to anyone interested.

Beautiful kit for running as a stand alone engine

I am very pleased with the appearance and operation of the SE-01 beam engine kit. It runs very smoothly by itself. I was so impressed with the kit that I immediately ordered the GF-1 mini workshop kit to go with it. Unfortunately, the boiler on the SE-01 kit is not big enough for sustained running of the mini workshop. If you let the pressure build up to its maximum, the workshop will run for about 20 seconds with the steam valve wide open and the governor locked down. I am debating whether to get an SE-03 vertical engine to run the workshop, but I have been unable to find any information about the capacity of the boiler on that kit.
