.History: In 1964, following the release of renowned V8 engine versions in the US, a gaint initiated the front-mounted engine project and obtained approval. The first operational engine was delivered in October 1966. Initially intended for the 1968 HK series, production issues led to delays, prompting the use of imported 307ci engines from Canada. Starting from 1971, V8 engines also appeared in the luxury Statesman series of full-sized cars, established as an independent brand. In 1974, the 253 and 308 engines (now known as 4.2L and 5.0L) were first introduced in the Torana series' LH models. By 1978, with the launch of the new compact Commodore as a family car, the final versions of the "Red" 253 and 308 engines were introduced alongside the original VB model. With the release of the "Black" engine in the 1984 VK Commodore, the 253 engine was phased out as an option, leaving the 308 as the sole available V8 engine in the Commodore lineup. In 1988, fuel injection debuted on V8 engines through HSV. Later that year, the VN introduced the 5000i engine with new cylinder heads and multi-point fuel injection, representing the most extensive redesign of the standard production V8 since its 1969 introduction. This engine continued in all subsequent Commodore models until 1999 (2000 for the VS Series III Ute) when it was replaced by the all-alloy Gen III LS1 manufactured in the USA, in the VT Series II.
.Design: The V8 is a water-cooled, naturally aspirated, 4-stroke gasoline engine with 8 cylinders arranged in a 90-degree V configuration. It features an overhead valve design with two valves per cylinder. The camshaft is located in the center of the engine block above the crankshaft and is driven by a timing chain connected to the camshaft sprocket. Valve actuation is achieved through hydraulic lifters and rocker arms (roller rockers in some models) in the cylinder head. The pushrod angles in the cylinder head are set at 45 degrees to the cylinder centerline. A belt-driven radiator fan and water pump are located at the front of the engine block and are driven by the main pulley, similar to the alternator. The cast iron engine block has an independent stamped-steel, stress-relieved bearing cap assembly, and the crankshaft sits within five main bearing journals, secured by two-bolt main bearing caps; later performance versions utilize four-bolt main bearing caps.
.Achievements: The engine has a successful history in various forms of motorsport, most notably in the Australian Touring Car Championship and the Bathurst 1000 prior to 1995, as well as in Formula 5000 and other racing applications. It has also been used in Australian powerboats with inboard engines, especially for waterskiing boats.

While the online directions were of nice quality I feel as though they could use some revision. Model turned out well
Just started building, so far so good. For what this model cost it would have been nice to have an actual instruction manual instead of online. Can deal with the bags not being numbered but not having a manual is a bit of a pain. More work than fun.
So far going well. No missing parts. Various pins difficult to use due to quality
I was very excited to start the engine. I am a LEGO nut and have done a number of their huge projects, so I was looking forward to this build. Things started smoothly, but after a while I found that the instructions were difficult to locate the position of the bricks. After zooming and trial and error, the problems were solved. Also, it would be very helpful to number the bags, and have the parts in them for a certain number of steps instead of having to dump all there parts bag and end up spending more time searching for parts then actually building. I also found after completing about half the building, that I parts were missing. I have placed 3 orders already for replacement parts and am hoping I don’t need to order any more, but am not very confident. I guess I could notify the company, The delays are going to be a problem. I have solved number of missing parts issues with spare parts I have, but I still have ordered more. I’m sure I will enjoy the remainder of the build and am sure the operation will be gratifying and interesting.Over all a relatively good build, the design is outstanding, and the detail is accurate. I would recommend this build to experienced lego builders, it is a challenge.
From Facebook, not scammer. Enginediyshop is a real company. As an engineering enthusiast, I was blown away by the intricacy of this model that Spent hours assembling this engine, and the satisfaction of seeing it run was worth every second.

The instructions to build were fantastic, I soon got it together. There are no operating instructions but I have some knowledge about steam engines so I worked it out. The engine.wouldnt run continuous at first so I ran it at a steady speed for 10 minutes without the governor belt on, this allowed the parts to run in, I put the belt on and it runs fine now. Instructions about adjusting the governor would have been nice, but I worked it out. The short tube split after a few days running but I had some tube that size so not a problem, I am thinking about replacing it with a metal tube, but thats in the future. I run mine on gas, much safer than meths and less bothersome, I have some gas burners for my other engines so thats Ok.
I havent worked out what the plastic bits in the spares bag are yet, but I suppose I'll find out when I need one. As I say, some running instructions would have been nice, but it is a nice engine, well built and engineered.
Love it. Super simple design. Everything that isn't pre assembled is all put together with off the shelf M3 nuts and bolts. As for the main piston and cylinder. You'll have to adjust the beam a fair bit and run the engine hard to help work out the CNC machine lines. Both cylinder and piston where machined on the same axis so the tooling lines rub against each other and create a high friction zone. That said it won't run well at first. But after some time and wearing in those parts will loosen and performance will improve. That being said the novelty of this pleases this 30 year old. Beats using the space heater.
ENJOMOR Christmas Metal Steam-Powered Car Model: A Functional Science & Education Collectible Gift
My son gave me one of these "coffee-cup Stirling Engines" as a gift. Not only does it run for a half-hour or so on a single cup of coffee, you can also run it on the heat from the palm of your hand, if you put a bit of ice on top. (You might do this after a meal, if you have a bit of ice left over.) It makes a faint, musical clanking sound when running. A tiny bit of assembly was required, just snapping the connecting rods onto the cranks. It ran even better after I put a counterweight onto the flywheel.
Bien
All I expected
Yes there are better machined kits available but definitely not for this price. A true value for money kit, easy to build, runs smoothly, good at slow speed too and a joy to watch. Happy with the delivery time (netherlands) and well packed.
Quick delivery, good packaging for transport (no damage). Nice cardboard gift box as 2nd packaging. Beautiful model machine, carefully crafted. Very happy!
Fun to build.Works as it should. No pieces missing.
Got it in just two weeks, and man, this engine runs like a champ. The paint job and design give off some serious retro vibes – totally loving it!
I am an engineer and love old vintage stuff from the past. She saw this vintage engine on Facebook and gave it to me for my birthday, we have been married for more than 30 years and I really love her, thanks to my wife also thanks to Enginediyshop!
I'm a huge MOC fan, entered their Facebook giveaway, and landed this gem. It's insanely realistic, the structure is spot-on. Feeling confident in my skills, I decided to tackle it without the instructions – what a blast! At 10% completion, I had to here and share my excitement. Highly recommend it for fellow LEGO enthusiasts!
The price isn't too shabby either. It occupies way less space and makes way less noise than a full-size engine.
Spotted this adorable Christmas gem on Facebook and thought it'd be the perfect holiday gift for my grandson. He's obsessed with the big steam toys in my studio!
