Best Model I've done so far!

Really nice, all metal - beautifully made. I'm just starting this, but the quality is very good. I'm ordering the helicopter turbofan model now.

Teching V12

Super engine, my 4th Teching engine,. Enginediyshop is super to deal with. I had a small problem and they solved it really fast at no charge. I can't say enough good things about them. They are simply the best.

Lovely little engine

I’m a fan of the Retrol engines so I had to add the SE3 to my collection it’s very nice and goes together easily enough. I had to use a different hole for the safety valve as it would not go into the one allocated to it. Tapping the threads into the base saves a lot of fiddling with the small nuts. The burner setup in the boiler isn’t ideal. It dosent last very long before needing refilled. It could do with either a bigger tray or one with wicks so it burns longer. The piston rod managed to unscrew itself a bit and ended up hitting the back end of the cylinder. The locknut came loose. The governor needed a bit of adjustment to mesh its gears properly. Other than those small adjustments, it’s a beautiful engine.

A nice complete steam plant

The quality of the components is great. Machining is accurate and everything fits perfectly. The engine runs really well at low speed and will self start most of the time.

My kit had 2 minor problems;
1: The siphon tube leaked steam under pressure, that was a simple enough fix with a propane torch and soft solder. If you aren't sure what you're doing with that repair I'd suggest you reach out to support via email and they will take care of the issue.
2: The included hardware is where the kit is let down. Many of the smaller screws (M2x5mm specifically) in my kit were malformed and could not be properly tightened with the included wrench or any of the tools I own. The socket in the head and head itself appeared to me misshapen. This is a really minor problem that can be caught during assembly and addressed then.

Overall I am very happy with the kit and impressed by the support from Enginediyshop.

The beautiful SE-03 Steam Engine Plant

I received the SE-03 steam engine plant a few weeks and ago and from opening the box I was stunned with its beauty. Now I have to admit I've always been a sucker for a steam engine with a vertical boiler so this steam plant just ticked all the boxes for me.
Absolutely awesome kit and a great lot of fun to put this together. As I mentioned above, it's a stunningly beautiful steam plant with a historical looking antique vertical boiler. I have many hours of running this engine now and it's been total pleasure. I have a lot of steam engines, but this one stands out and visitors (who aren't even enthusiasts over the Christmas/New Years break all commented on it which was very interesting to me.
