Product Background: The L-Series was a series of commercial trucks assembled and sold between 1970 and 1998. The L-Series was the company's first dedicated Class 8 conventional truck, commonly known as the "Louisville Line," named after the Kentucky Trucking Plant where it was assembled.

Its design references a retro American truck from a video game, featuring a unique drivetrain: an off-road engine driving a two-speed gearbox that distributes power to all wheels (6x6). Power is transmitted down the wheel shafts only through planetary hubs, reducing the load on the drive axles. There is one drive axle on the front axle and two (!) universal joints on the rear axle—each axle has its own drive axle—resulting in a perfectly balanced power distribution.
