Discover the Fascination of Steam Engine Models at Enginediyshop

Steam engines are a classic example of converting heat into mechanical power. Our compact steam engine model uses steam pressure to drive motion, delivering a clear and engaging demonstration of this principle.

With its retro vertical design and finely crafted metal components, this model is both a functional device and an eye-catching collectible. Simply add water, light the alcohol burner, and watch it run smoothly for 5–10 minutes—an impressive display that captures attention instantly.

Perfect for DIY enthusiasts, education, or gifting, it offers a hands-on way to explore physics and mechanics while enjoying the beauty of engineering.

⚠️ Note: Uses alcohol fuel (not included). Allow the engine to cool after use and avoid contact with heated parts. Recommended for supervised use.

Never Gets old!

This makes numer 7 for me and it never gets old. (2) models these come in and both just as cool as the other. Lots of accessories you can run on these little jokers. Get both model's you will be glad you did.
Enjoy your Steam!

Thanks so much for your continued support! We’re delighted this is your seventh model and that you’re enjoying all the accessories. Your enthusiasm for both versions means a lot—enjoy your steam!

It’s a good base and fuel tank

Great base box and fuel tank looks very good on my hit. Miss model engine worked really good well built.

Thanks so much for the great review! We’re delighted the base and fuel tank look good on your hit-and-miss engine and are working well. We really appreciate your support!

Expensive, but worth it

A beautifully constructed and finished model; it looks particularly striking with this boiler, and even better when in operation. At first, the steam output seemed insufficient, but with a bit of experience, it proves to be just right: a single fill of water and alcohol — running at a moderate speed with occasional revving ups — allows for 15–20 minutes of operation.
Unfortunately, the instruction manual does not specify what type of steam cylinder oil is required. I used Milbury Live Steam Oil, which seems to work fine. Lubricating the moving parts is a real challenge.
The steam engine arrived with a few loose screws and a slightly misaligned reversing lever. During operation, the reversing lever tends to snap into one of its extreme positions; it does not stay in intermediate settings.
Overall, the RW-BV2C offers offers excellent value for money.

Thanks for sharing such a thoughtful review. We’re delighted you’re enjoying the model’s construction and performance, and appreciate your notes about the oil guidance, lubrication, loose screws, and reversing lever. We’ll pass this feedback along to our team to help improve the product and instructions. Happy steaming!

Works ok. Can be tuned even better

out of the box it ran 9k, but there was some resistance. Tweaked the tension on the legs holding the crankshaft, light but not loose, and twisted a pencil pint over every bearing surface. Runs really well now. A great teaching tool.

Thanks for sharing your tuning tips! We’re glad the engine is running so well now and that you’re enjoying it as a teaching tool. We appreciate your thoughtful review.

Twee kleine tegenvallers
